About The Position

The pharmacy residency program is a twelve-month postgraduate training program designed to develop a skilled practitioner who is prepared to deliver patient-centered pharmaceutical services and interact with members of the health care team accountable for the care of patients with complex conditions in a community hospital ambulatory care environment. Residents who successfully complete the residency program will be prepared to pursue advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions, along with board certification, if available. The resident will be responsible for supervising and performing in all pharmacy operations in accordance with accredited hospital policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, The Joint Commission standards, and State and Federal requirements. The resident will be in compliance with the accreditation standards of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists PGY2 pharmacy residency program.

Requirements

• Graduate from ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy or recipient of FPGEC certificate from NABP
• Completion of PGY1 residency from ASHP accredited or candidate status program
• Must have Kentucky as applicable to site pharmacy intern license at start of the residency program if pharmacist licensure not obtained prior to the residency start date
• Must obtain Kentucky Pharmacist license as applicable to site within 60 days of residency start date.
• Must obtain BLS by completion of residency orientation period
• Must obtain ACLS within 90 days of residency start date

Responsibilities

• Supervising and performing in all pharmacy operations in accordance with accredited hospital policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, The Joint Commission standards, and State and Federal requirements.
• Complying with the accreditation standards of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists PGY2 pharmacy residency program.
