Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Active pharmacist license in the state of practice
  • Current immunization certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Experience leading Pharmacy teams

Responsibilities

  • Practice at the top of your license by delivering patient-centered clinical services, including immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM), while playing an active role in improving health outcomes beyond prescription fulfillment.
  • Lead, coach, and support pharmacy technicians and associates in delivering exceptional customer service
  • Help create a culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Support pharmacy performance through prescription growth, customer engagement, and clinical services
  • Promote preventive care and wellness programs that improve the health of our communities
  • Champion immunizations, medication adherence, health screenings, and other patient care initiatives
  • Manage the day-to-day operations in the pharmacy department
  • Responsible for filling prescriptions accurately (translating, filling, verifying and post verifying)
  • Provide customer counselling and remarkable customer service and ensure pharmacy staff is providing as well
  • Communicate with entire healthcare team, patients, and third-party insurance companies
  • Operate computer filling system, email, and fax machines
  • Answer phones
  • Inventory management - including ordering, addressing out of stocks, addressing outdates, biennial physical inventory, Supply Logix and maintain inventory goals
  • Complete and file paperwork as per company policy
  • Interface with supervision, operations, field support and store management
  • Supervision of pharmacy staff (staff pharmacist, technicians, cashiers, and interns) – may include hiring, training, work assignments, performance reviews and terminations)
  • Responsible for compliance with all policies and procedures set forth by the company
  • Assist with HBC items and HBC Counselling
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and state laws
  • Lead clinical programs, including but not limited to MTM, Diabetic education classes, Heath Screenings, Time My Meds and Immunizations- Based on the needs of the business
  • Attend twice year physical inventory
  • Mandatory meeting & training session attendance based on the needs of the business
  • Provide offsite vaccinations
  • Pharmacy maintenance including but not limited to floor care, construction, and sanitation
  • Meet with store management team regularly to review metrics, set goals and objectives
  • Responsible for resolving temperature excursions in the pharmacy to include coming up with a response plan for after hours to respond to alerts to maintain the integrity of the refrigerated medication in the pharmacy
  • Seek out marketing opportunities in the community (immunization clinics, community participation)
