Pharmacy Intern P1 Per Diem Rotate
About The Position
At DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, the Pharmacy Intern assists a licensed pharmacist with the efficient and accurate preparation, dispensing, and delivery of pharmaceuticals and supplies, following established policies and procedures. Under general supervision, the intern consults with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate pharmaceutical delivery to patients. The intern also participates in educational programs and projects to improve the department’s clinical and operational functions and develop an approach to their responsibility for providing optimum patient care. The depth of the intern’s involvement depends on their academic standing or year of professional education.
Requirements
- Enrollment in the first year of a professional program at an accredited College of Pharmacy, or equivalent.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacy Intern in Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist with preparing, dispensing, and delivering pharmaceuticals and supplies accurately and efficiently, according to established policies and procedures.
- Consult with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate delivery of pharmaceuticals to patients.
- Participate in educational programs and projects to improve the clinical and operational components of the department and develop an understanding of the intern’s responsibility for optimum patient care.
