Pharmacy Intern - Pharmacy - Per Diem (rotating shifts) Working alongside some of the city's most experienced pharmacists, you will benefit from mentorship with the best minds in medicine, within an environment of unparalleled shared learning. Under close supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Pharmacist, performs preparation of medications, clerical duties, and maintenance of supplies in the satellite Pharmacy Unit. This is a non-professional position. You will prepare batches of sterile and non-sterile products according to a recipe prepared by a pharmacist. Reconstitutes solutions, manufactures stock preparations and suspensions, and re-packages medication when needed. This is a per diem 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month with (rotating shifts) position at NYP Hudson Valley Hospital located at 1980 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, Westchester County, NY.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Intern License
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Experience in an approved NYPH pharmacy-training program or at least one-year work experience.

Responsibilities

Performs preparation of medications, clerical duties, and maintenance of supplies in the satellite Pharmacy Unit.
Prepare batches of sterile and non-sterile products according to a recipe prepared by a pharmacist.
Reconstitutes solutions, manufactures stock preparations and suspensions, and re-packages medication when needed.
