Pharmacy Intern

CVS Health•Anchorage, AK
•Onsite

About The Position

CVS Health’s 3rd year Pharmacy Interns apply pharmacy-school learning in real-world practice as they prepare for increased responsibility and a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, interns complete a comprehensive training roadmap comprising Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders, while learning about store, district, and regional operations. In retail pharmacies, interns assist the pharmacy team with smooth operations and prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, while providing caring service to patients. They learn pharmacy workflows, standard operating procedures, best practices, and effective communication, and help foster a safe, inclusive environment where patients and colleagues feel valued. As their tenure increases, interns take on greater responsibility for pharmacy operations and patient care. Duties may include supporting prescription processing and patient service, offering counseling and handling medical questions under pharmacist supervision when appropriate, taking or clarifying prescriptions where permitted, assisting with inventory, coaching and mentoring team members, and providing additional health services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing when allowed and appropriately trained. Where permissible, interns may complete additional requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration. This is a part-time position. The stated pay range is $20.50–$24.25. Depending on hours worked and eligibility, benefits may include dental and vision coverage, wellness resources, employee discounts, access to certain voluntary benefits, and other programs. The application window is anticipated to close on 10/30/2026.
