About The Position

The Pharmacy Intern works in the Dearborn Hospital outpatient pharmacy under the direction and supervision of a pharmacist. The role performs functions related to medication preparation, storage, and distribution within the health system. As the student advances through pharmacy school, they will perform higher levels of professional support. The intern supports pharmaceutical activities, contributes to team efforts to achieve departmental and corporate objectives, exercises good judgment and decisiveness in daily work, and demonstrates commitment to professional growth.

The Dearborn pharmacy department provides reliable and safe medication services and medication information for providers, staff, and patients across outpatient, inpatient, ambulatory, specialty, and critical care settings. Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is a 632-bed teaching and research hospital serving Southeast Michigan since 1953, with five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship. It is a Level II trauma center and a primary stroke center, with clinical expertise including orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart and vascular care, and cancer care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fulfilling requirements toward a Pharm.D. degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Michigan State Pharmacist Intern license required upon hire.
