Pharmacy Intern

CVS Health•Milwaukee, WI

About The Position

CVS Health’s 3rd year Pharmacy Intern role provides hands-on experience applying pharmacy-school learning in a retail pharmacy and developing skills in preparation for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, the intern completes a comprehensive training roadmap involving Key Learning Experiences, pharmacy activities, and time with district leaders, while gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations. The intern supports pharmacy operations and helps ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, while providing caring patient service. The role involves following standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow, communicating effectively, and contributing to a safe, inclusive team culture. With increasing tenure, interns take on greater responsibility for the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations and may provide additional patient health care services where permitted by law and supported by required training and certification. Where permissible, the intern may pursue Technician Immunizer status by completing applicable licensure and training requirements. Duties may then include preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, responding to and reporting adverse reactions, and collecting and documenting patient information. This is a part-time position. The typical pay range is $20.50–$24.25.
