Pharmacy Intern

CVS Health•Highland Park, IL

About The Position

CVS Health’s 3rd year Pharmacy Interns apply their pharmacy-school learning in real-world practice while preparing for increasing responsibility and a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, interns complete a comprehensive training roadmap that includes Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders, as well as exposure to store, district, and regional operations. In the pharmacy, they support smooth operations and the prompt, safe, and accurate fulfillment of prescriptions while providing caring service to patients. They learn to follow Standard Operating Procedures, pharmacy best practices, and effective communication practices, while helping foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging team culture. The role’s training and responsibilities develop skills in pharmacy workflow, patient care, prescription fulfillment, inventory, and teamwork. As tenure increases, interns take on greater responsibility for the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations. Where permitted by law and supported by required training and certification, interns may also provide additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics. The position requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and flexibility to work in other stores in the market as business needs require. This is a part-time position. The typical pay range is $20.50–$24.25. Benefits and programs may include dental and vision coverage, wellness resources, employee discounts, access to certain voluntary benefits, and other programs, depending on hours worked and eligibility.
