About The Position

CVS Health’s 3rd year Pharmacy Interns apply pharmacy-school learning in a retail pharmacy setting while preparing for increasing responsibility and a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, interns complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders, and gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations. In the pharmacy, they support smooth operations and timely, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment while providing caring service to patients. They learn to follow Standard Operating Procedures, best practices, and effective communication practices, and contribute to a safe and inclusive environment where patients and colleagues feel valued. Interns progressively take on responsibility for pharmacy operations and patient care. Duties include supporting pharmacy workflow, serving patients, assisting with counseling and medical questions under pharmacist supervision where appropriate, handling prescriptions and prescriber communications where state regulations allow, completing basic inventory tasks, and delivering additional health services where allowed and appropriately trained. Where permissible, interns may also pursue Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration after completing applicable training and licensure requirements. This is a part-time position. The typical pay range is $20.00–$23.75.
