Pharmacy Intern - Grad

CVS Health•Kearny, NJ

About The Position

CVS Health Graduate Pharmacy Interns support retail pharmacy teams while developing the skills and readiness needed for a Pharmacist role. The intern applies pharmacy-school learning in real-world practice and, under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, completes a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. Training and hands-on experience build knowledge of store, district, and regional operations, patient safety and error prevention, quality assurance and drug utilization review, and professional standards such as corresponding responsibility and red-flag detection. In the pharmacy, the intern helps ensure smooth operations and that prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, while providing caring service. The role follows standard operating procedures and pharmacy best practices, communicates effectively, and contributes to a safe, inclusive culture. As readiness grows, the intern takes on greater accountability for pharmacy operations and team support. Where permitted by law and supported by training and certification, the intern may provide additional health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics. The position requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and flexibility to work at other stores in the market as business needs require.
