About The Position

CVS Health’s 3rd year Pharmacy Intern role provides hands-on experience applying pharmacy-school learning in a retail pharmacy setting while preparing for greater responsibility and a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, interns complete a comprehensive training roadmap consisting of Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders, while learning about store, district, and regional operations. Interns support pharmacy operations and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, while delivering caring service to patients. They follow company Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow practices, contribute to a safe and inclusive team culture, and develop clinical and technical skills through patient interactions, pharmacy tasks, and feedback. As tenure increases, interns take on increasing responsibility for the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations. Where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification, they may also help deliver patient health services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing.
