As a member of the pharmacy management team, the clinical pharmacy manager drives the highest level of quality and clinical competency in the pharmacy department staff. Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, procedures and protocols that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe and cost-effective drug therapies. Coordinates clinical pharmacy services and programs and participates in multi-discipline committees and projects to collaborate on pharmacy clinical issues throughout the hospital. Supervises clinical and staff pharmacist positions and coordinates the clinical pharmacy activities for the health care system. Coordinates the activities of the P&T committee; develops metrics to meet clinical regulatory requirements; works in conjunction with other clinical pharmacy resources across the integrated system of care. Responsible for process improvement related to clinical direction of the department, setting expectations and holding staff accountable for performance metrics related to clinical initiatives. The clinical manager also serves as the Residency Program Director for the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program as well as a preceptor for IPPE/ APPE students in the Health System Rotation.
