About The Position

WEIS is looking for a Pharmacy Cashier who is passionate about teamwork and the growth of its associates and communities. This role is responsible for delivering superior customer service, assisting customers at the register, and supporting the pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily and work towards a high school diploma or GED.

Requirements

• Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Valid driver's license for business travel purposes.

Responsibilities

• Delivering superior customer service, including smiling, greeting customers, answering non-medical questions, suggestive selling, handling special requests, and resolving minor customer issues promptly and courteously.
• Assisting customers at the register by processing sales of prescriptions, OTC products, groceries, and other various items.
• Identifying customer needs, helping to locate products, and promoting products and services.
• Working with pharmacists to resolve customer issues or problems.
• Operating and maintaining knowledge of equipment such as the register, phones, and other department equipment.
• Retrieving prescriptions and prescription refills, collecting necessary information for prescription processing, and assigning wait times in partnership with technicians and pharmacists.
• Assisting customers in completing first-time patient information documents and requesting insurance or patient discount cards.
• Providing customer assistance during prescription pick-up, including retrieving prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and gathering electronic signatures for HIPAA acknowledgment and third-party payment.
• Unpacking and putting away pharmacy orders.
• Providing operational support to pharmacists and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Immediately reporting any suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Following all department policies and procedures and complying with state and federal regulations.
• Performing additional job-related responsibilities and duties as necessary or assigned.
• Supporting and embodying the Mission, Vision, and Values of Weis Markets.
