About The Position

Duane Reade is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented drug clerk to provide customers with a consistently high level of service in the pharmacy department. The role is often the first and last impression customers have of the pharmacy. The person hired must have open availability to work days, nights, and weekends as needed, and be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required. Six months of retail experience and prior work experience with Duane Reade are preferred. Compensation depends on factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant factors. The role remains open until filled. Responsibilities

• Greet customers and patients in the pharmacy department.
• Answer phones, take messages, and take over-the-counter orders using proper phone etiquette.
• Intake new prescriptions and refill orders.
• Verify product availability and prescription dispensing wait times.
• Look up and verify patient information.
• File prescriptions.
• Ensure the signature log is completed for every prescription pickup.
• Tie out the cash drawer at the start and finish of shifts and maintain adequate change.
• Process sales transactions using all available payment methods.
• Process merchandise returns, exchanges, and vendor returns.
• Receive and check in pharmacy orders.
• Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area.
• Photocopy and fax information as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of Duane Reade store locations, products, and available services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
