About The Position

The Pharmacy Care Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Optum at Home (OAH) pharmacy program by assisting the Pharmacist with patient outreach, provider communication and care coordination activities. This position is responsible for making and documenting phone calls, sending faxes, and following up with providers, patients and pharmacies. Following up on recommendations made by the clinical pharmacist assists with the implementation of the recommendations, leading to improved patient outcomes. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm PST Location: 3901 Hoyt Ave, Lower Level, Everett, WA 98201

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Active State of Washington Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • 1+ year of computer proficiency experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • 1 plus year of retail pharmacy experience
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of current or recent pharmacy or PBM experience
  • Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB, NCCT, or ExCPT)
  • Call center experience

Responsibilities

  • Contact patients, answer incoming calls, and schedule or reschedule appointments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and track patient enrollments, laboratory orders, and test results to ensure accurate and timely follow-up.
  • Investigate and resolve patient, billing, and pharmacy-related issues while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Support clinicians, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNPs), and Pharmacists, with daily operations and patient follow-up activities.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries, ensuring accurate information and effective resolution of issues.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure continuity of patient care and service excellence.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
