About The Position

The Pharmacy Buyer oversees department purchasing and billing processes and assists with quality functions for regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for placing daily orders for pharmaceuticals and supplies to meet department needs, monitoring contract compliance, overseeing department billing processes and charge corrections, and ensuring regulatory compliance by coordinating quality functions and maintaining accurate documentation. The Pharmacy Buyer must also be competent in automation-related equipment and procedures, managing issues and maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• National Pharmacy Technician certificate
• Registered with the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy
• Two years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital pharmacy

Responsibilities

• Places daily orders for pharmaceuticals and supplies in sufficient quantities to meet department needs
• Monitors for contract compliance
• Oversees department billing processes and charge corrections
• Ensures regulatory compliance by coordinating quality functions and maintaining accurate documentation
• Competent in automation related equipment and procedures
• Manages issues and maintenance related to automation equipment
