Accountable for upkeep and maintenance of automated drug devices. Develops and implements plans that have proactive and reactive measures to ensure that devices are operating as efficiently as possible. Manages user database, medication availability, and various reports to ensure compliance with security and targeted financial and inventory goals. Maintains quality to a standard expected of the University Medical Center. The Pharmacy Automation System Specialist 2 is responsible for more than 600 automated drug devices located in various nursing units and pharmacies throughout the medical center. In addition to the maintenance of these units, the Automation Specialist is also responsible for the effective utilization and review of quality aspects pertaining to the use of these units through use of reports and continual upgrades supported by the manufacturers.
