About The Position

The Pharmacy Automation Coordinator is responsible for the optimization of drug inventory stored within pharmacy automation. This role involves coordinating, planning, and executing automation add-ons, new hospital openings, or hospital conversions. The coordinator will maintain automation databases, including the creation of new users, items, and reports. As an active member of the pharmacy department and pharmacy council structure, this position plays a key role in the use and optimization of pharmacy automation across the system. The coordinator will also assist with the evaluation of future medication automation products from various vendors and aid in the development and compliance with pharmacy automation policies and procedures. Additionally, the role may require staffing and performing all duties of a certified pharmacy technician.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy related experience including the oversight of pharmacy automation dispensing and storage technology.
  • Project management experience in the planning, preparation, and implementation of drug and inventory control automation projects including user training.
  • Pharmacy Technician License & Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (PTCB).
  • Eligible to obtain or hold IL Pharmacy Technician License and/or Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration.

  • Assists with evaluation of future medication automation products for all vendors considered beneficial to the organization.
  • Assists in the development and compliance with pharmacy automation policies and procedures.
  • May be asked to staff and perform all duties of a certified pharmacy technician.
