About The Position
Lansdall Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. This is a 12-month term position with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role. The store operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and typical shifts will be scheduled within these days and hours. Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program
- Previous experience within a pharmacy
Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
- Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
