Responsibilities

  • Processing new and refill prescriptions
  • Data entry of prescriptions, including dosage calculations
  • Packaging prescriptions including product selection, counting/measuring, and labeling
  • Preparation of blister packs and compounds
  • Adjudication and sale of prescription and non-prescription products using the pharmacy software and point of sale (POS) systems
  • Providing customer service to patients in person and over the telephone
  • Ordering and receiving pharmacy inventory and supplies
  • Over-the-counter department maintenance including facing, stocking, cleaning, pricing, checking expiries, etc.
  • Administrative duties such as performing inventory counts, processing invoices, filing, etc.
  • Cleaning duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying waste containers, cleaning packaging and dispensing equipment, etc.
  • Comply with all legal requirements (Federal and Provincial) and Pharmacy Standards of Practice
  • Comply with Homestead Co-op policies and procedures and follow Health and Safety procedures
  • Assist with other pharmacy operations as required
