About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Manager with various tasks related to prescription fulfillment, inventory management, and customer service. The Pharmacy Assistant will handle prescription intake, perform computer functions, fill prescriptions under supervision, maintain inventory and supplies, and ensure clerical organization. The position requires working under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager to complete delegated tasks.

Requirements

• Certification from a College/On-line Pharmacy Technician school and/or applicable work experience in a pharmacy or retail setting
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Highly motivated with proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills
• Stand and/or walk
• Bend, twist, and squat
• Lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs.)
• Perform tasks involving firm grasping
• Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions
• Reach above shoulder height and below waist level
• Operate equipment, including using a ladder
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and maintain authorization for the duration of employment.

• 2 or more years’ experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Receive prescriptions from patients
• Perform computer functions as directed by the Pharmacy Manager
• Fill prescriptions under the Pharmacy Manager’s supervision
• Maintain inventory control
• Maintain supplies and clerical organization
• Complete delegated tasks as required under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager
• Ensuring health and safety policies and guidelines are followed
• Ensuring Loss prevention best practices are followed
• Ensuring compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery
• Ensuring emergency protocols are followed
