The Pharmacy Assistant functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and performs all of the essential generic job functions as listed below.
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Pharmacy Technician License.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital experience.
Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in replenishing floor stock.
- Assists the pharmacist in delivering medications to patient care areas.
- Assists the pharmacist with the receipt and stocking of medication deliveries.
- Delivers medication carts to patient care areas.
- Assists the pharmacist in the maintenance of adequate drug supplies in filling stations and notifies appropriate departmental personnel regarding needed supplies.
- Assures that filling stations are maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
- Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
