About The Position
Pharmasave #250 - Keremeos is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join their team in Keremeos, British Columbia. This role involves supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care, managing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and performing clerical tasks. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a schedule of 20 to 24 hours per week. The store operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
- Proficiency with Kroll, along with a high level of accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry, is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
- Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
