About The Position

The Pharmacy Internship program is a progressive program designed to prepare pharmacy students to function as fully competent pharmacists upon completion. Pharmacy Students are provided opportunities to experience distributive and clinical activities to enhance their formal education. Per NYS regulations, interns are also assigned a pharmacist preceptor. The preceptor assumes the responsibility for training the intern, even though the intern may practice occasionally under the supervision of another pharmacist in the same pharmacy.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a college of pharmacy that has been accredited by the ACPE (Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education). A college of pharmacy that has been granted pre-accreditation status (precandidate or candidate status) by the ACPE will be considered accredited for the purposes of this internship program
• License not required upon hire; must receive permit 90 days from completion of the 1st year of pharmacy school

Responsibilities

• Performs all functions of the Pharmacy Assistant and Pharmacy Technician job descriptions
• Develops project management skills and works independently to complete projects as assigned.
• Able to collect and analyze data
• Participates individually and with teams in effort to continuously improve quality.
