About The Position

The Pharmacy Area Manager oversees pharmacy department operations, including setting and achieving goals and managing pharmacists, team leaders, and technicians. The role includes responsibility for workflow, scheduling, ordering, payroll, documentation, training, issue resolution, dispensing practices, employee development, and profitability. The manager partners with store leadership and other departments to implement company initiatives and drive storewide success, while staying informed about industry, customer, market, and business trends.

Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.
Pharmacist state license; licensing in multiple states may be required.
Computer skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee pharmacy operations, including workflow, scheduling, ordering, payroll, required documentation, staff training, and issue resolution.
Set and achieve goals with pharmacists and team leaders, holding them accountable for sales, profitability, retention, diversity, and employee development.
Manage pharmacy workflow and dispensing, ensure best practices are followed, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Partner with store leadership and other departments to champion company initiatives, integrate programs, and drive storewide success.
Stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, and business performance to drive profitability.
Analyze products and business trends, customer trends, market data, and financial reports to increase profitability.
Interview, select, and arrange training for new team members.
Teach, encourage, and empower employees to take on new responsibilities using training and career development tools.
