About The Position

This role supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values, including the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Pharmacy Advocate provides exceptional customer service by streamlining the manufacturer assistance process or enrolling patients in international shipping, ensuring a seamless transition to pharmacy programs. They assist pharmacy advocate staff and patients in completing and submitting necessary forms and program applications accurately and in a timely manner, while also tracking the status of these applications. A significant part of the role involves using Excel spreadsheets for enrollment, usage, and revenue tracking and analysis. Effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and third-party representatives is crucial, involving frequent phone contact with provider representatives, third-party customer service representatives, and pharmacy staff.

Requirements

  • High School, Diploma, or GED required
  • Pharmacy tech preferred or experience in a retail pharmacy or health care field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • General knowledge of pharmacy benefits.
  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.

  • Provides assistance to pharmacy advocate staff and patients to complete and submit all necessary forms and program applications.
  • Completes and submits all necessary forms in a timely manner.
  • Tracks and follows up on status of applications.
  • Frequently works in Excel spreadsheets to create and analyze enrollment, use and revenue tracking.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and third party representatives.
  • Maintains frequent phone contact with provider representatives, third party customer service representatives, and pharmacy staff.
