About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking talented individuals to join their HUB Centralized Services team as a Pharmacist. This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE) located at the Central Fill location (approx. 114th and Dodge in Omaha, NE). The role involves clinical review of prescriptions, including drug utilization review and order entry accuracy checks. Pharmacists will also work alongside pharmacy technicians, triaging and assisting with patient phone calls. This position is part of a closed-door central fill pharmacy and partners with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to provide exceptional patient care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills and use of typical office equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Outpatient hospital pharmacy experience or retail pharmacy experience.
  • American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency.
  • Experience with hospital EMR and pharmacy applications.
  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, dispense, and distribute medication.
  • Provide clinical monitoring and drug information to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations regarding dispensing and record maintenance.
  • Provide direction and assist with the organization of daily activities.
  • Perform clinical review of prescriptions (drug utilization review, order entry accuracy checks).
  • Work alongside pharmacy technicians while triaging/assisting patient phone calls.
