About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. It serves the greater North Texas area and provides a range of medical and surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient procedures in orthopedics, joint replacement, spine, general surgery, bariatrics, surgical oncology, ENT, reconstructive surgery, and other surgical specialties. The Staff Pharmacist reviews, interprets, and evaluates physician orders for appropriateness based on available patient information and current therapy, including allergies and potential drug interactions. The pharmacist dispenses medications in accordance with federal and state regulations and hospital policies, and directly supervises Pharmacy Technicians performing support functions. This is a part-time position with flexibility to work from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and call responsibility one week per month.
Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, and evaluate physician orders for appropriateness based on available patient information and current therapy, including allergies and potential drug interactions.
- Dispense medications in accordance with federal and state regulations and hospital policies.
- Provide direct supervision of Pharmacy Technicians performing support functions.
