About The Position

Responsible and accountable for providing drug therapy review/monitoring, preparation, dispensing, counseling and drug control for a outpatient/retail pharmacy in accordance with departmental and district policies and procedures as well as all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Pharmacy Degree in Pharmacy or of higher qualifications.
  • Must meet state requirements for Pharmacist.
  • Active Washington State Pharmacist License
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Adequate computer competency.
  • Knowledge pharmacy regulations as applicable to the job.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Supervise all Pharmacy Technician and Assistant duties.
  • Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs including appropriate immunization and when available MTM (Medication Therapy Management) and all other programs as identified.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and providing healthcare counseling.
  • Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
  • Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gather pertinent information about prescriptions that require a resolution of issues that arise.
  • Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including, but not limited to inventory management and will-calls to customers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
