Requirements
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School with a PharmD degree.
- Pharmacist license in the State of Illinois

Responsibilities
- Review orders for accuracy, dosage, safety, drug interactions, duplicate therapy and allergies
- Accurately verify and/or enter orders into Cerner
- Supervise technicians and students
- Attend codes
- Perform Pharmacy calculations
- Check medication and intravenous preparations for accuracy
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of sterile compounds using aseptic technique
- Maintain the sterile compounding area using appropriate cleaning protocols and documentation
- Adhere to the safe handling of hazardous medication practices
- Adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in cost reduction and inventory control measures
- Perform functions using hospital computer systems (e.g. Cerner, Meditech, Pyxis, etc.)
- Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
- Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
