About The Position

The Pharmacist creates an outstanding customer experience and inspires associates to provide excellent service. The role helps maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return, achieves department sales and profit goals, controls quality assurance standards and expenses, and schedules and staffs technicians to meet business needs. The Pharmacist monitors department functions and demonstrates the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The Pharmacist fulfills prescription needs accurately, provides patient counseling and pharmaceutical care, and administers vaccines as needed. The role ensures compliance with applicable laws and company policies; maintains pharmacy records, inventory, security, equipment, and a clean and professional work area; and supports effective department operations and customer service. The position requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and current pharmacist licensure in good standing. Retail experience and a second language are preferred.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return.
Achieve department sales and profit goals, control quality assurance standards and expenses, and schedule and staff technicians to meet business needs.
Monitor all functions, duties, and activities for the department.
Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Fulfill customers' prescription needs while concentrating on the accuracy of every prescription filled.
Administer vaccines as needed.
Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care to customers.
Ensure pharmacies comply with all local, state, and federal laws, including HIPAA.
Maintain a professional image through personal appearance, conduct, attitude, and the physical condition of the pharmacy; adhere to pharmacy standards and enforce company dress standards.
Develop a thorough knowledge of the trade area, its customers, and its competition.
Create a positive pharmacy department image through strong service, friendliness, and cooperation with customers, associates, and outside vendors.
Monitor stock replenishment, inventory levels, policies and procedures, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, equipment operation, pricing, planograms, returns, budgets, management reports, and product recalls according to company policy.
Maintain proper records, inventory, and security for scheduled drugs, including controlled substances and narcotics.
Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources.
Ensure accuracy tools, including the accuracy scanner and 24-hour post-dispensing audit report, are used appropriately.
Establish and maintain record-keeping practices necessary for legal compliance, company policies, accounting policies, and requested reports.
Maintain a clean, neat work area, including work counters, shelves, floors, and the customer counter.
Ensure product returns are handled promptly and according to company policy.
Maintain equipment such as computers, printers, accuracy scanners, and cash registers in working condition.
Maintain and organize policy manuals, reference books, state laws, and required equipment, and verify that staff know how to use them.
Maintain required signage, including store hours, counseling and service signs, pharmacists' photographs and names, and other requested signs.
Make a strong and continuous effort to broaden personal knowledge and pharmacy skills.
