About The Position

This position will specifically cater to candidates who are able to fulfill mostly evening weekend shifts that begin as early as 13:30 and as late as 16:30. Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and direct supervision of the Pharmacy Management Team, and according to standard procedures, the inpatient pharmacist is responsible for all aspects of drug distribution, and the provision of clinical pharmacy services that are consistent with the scope of service.

Requirements

Pharmacist’s License
ACLS Certification
Bachelors Pharmacy Degree
1 year of experience

Responsibilities

Assesses prescriptions for appropriateness and completeness, documenting changes and clarifications.
Serves as a ‘Standards of Behavior’ mentor/role model for persons reporting to this position as outlined in HR Policy 203.
Supervises and directs all ancillary personnel to ensure that all services provided by the pharmacy department are done in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintains department competencies for compounded sterile and non-sterile products.
Ensures the completion of all necessary documentation as required by regulating bodies.
Provides quality assurance on all unit-dose, non-sterile compounded, and sterile compounded products by abiding by the policies regarding medication storage, preparation/labeling, handling, dispensing, and disposal.
Provides drug information to healthcare professionals or the public when called upon.
Maintains medication security to authorized personnel only.
Abides by the “Medication Security” policy.
Demonstrates appropriate stocking and dispensing of controlled substances according to the “Controlled Substance” policy.
Completes annual clinical competencies in a timely manner.
Provides health care services in own job description for Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics.
Responds to Emergency Code pages and prepares medications as needed.
