The Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive medication management services that integrate clinical services, order management, and product distribution. They are responsible for the safe and appropriate use of hazardous and non-hazardous medications, ensuring proper storage and product integrity as required for patient care in accordance with institutional policies and standards. They will provide clinical drug monitoring and make therapeutic recommendations to the healthcare team as necessary. Works centrally and decentralized to perform all functions of a Registered Pharmacist including accurate dispensing, clinical interaction with the health care team, patient care monitoring and supervision of pharmacy technicians. The staff pharmacist will support AON’s formulary implementation initiatives, including but not limited to: Drug utilization reporting and analysis, therapeutic drug interchange programs, and Biosimilar integration. This clinical pharmacist will support medical providers by creating, updating, and communicating education material and provide support related to formulary preferences, performing therapeutics interchanges in the EMR with the approval of the prescriber, or within company therapeutic substitution protocols.
