About The Position

Our pharmacists play an integral role in delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based medication therapy while supporting the complex needs of our patients. This Pharmacist position is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to patients within an assigned area. Pharmacists may be aligned with a specific medical service, patient population, geographic area within UF Health Shands Hospital, and/or UF Health clinics. In this role, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy team members, and other healthcare professionals to help optimize medication therapy and support high-quality patient outcomes. Pharmacists also actively participate in relevant education, research, and professional development activities, providing an opportunity to contribute beyond direct patient care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • PharmD or equivalent education and hospital training / experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with supervisors, peers, support personnel and students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of general hospital and ambulatory operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate clinical services, education and research activities.
  • Registered pharmacist in Florida or eligible for same.
  • Must be accessible by telephone, requiring each employee to provide a valid telephone number to the department Staff Assistant.

Nice To Haves

  • PGY1 residency preferred.
  • PGY2 residency highly preferred.
  • Two years pharmacy experience in an organized health care setting preferred.
