About The Position

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Pharmacists for its Inpatient Pharmacy Department. This role involves performing functions related to the control, monitoring, and dispensing of medications for all age groups of patients. The pharmacist will supervise medication preparation by technicians and advise nursing personnel on medication administration. They will also promote the rational use of medications by providing drug information and clinical monitoring services to the medical community. The department utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams and has multiple ASHP accredited pharmacy residency programs, an active oncology infusion service, ambulatory care service lines, and a retail/specialty outpatient pharmacy. Hartford Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center and one of the largest teaching hospitals in New England.

Requirements

• Pharm.D. or equivalent Required
• Current CT Pharmacist license or eligible within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise medication preparation by pharmacy technicians.
• Advise nursing personnel regarding appropriate medication administration.
• Promote the rational use of medications via provision of drug information and clinical monitoring services to members of the medical community.
