This is a contract position for a Pharmacist (1099) in Salem, OR, with a pay rate of $100.00 per hour and a contract duration of 6 months.

Requirements

  • Must be a professional and dedicated individual.
  • Ability to work with a central pharmacy carousel system.
  • Experience with automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
  • Proficiency in product verification for bulk and patient-specific medications.
  • Knowledge of cold storage monitoring for vaccines and parenteral agents.
  • Experience with Controlled Substance dispensing, monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate closely with other pharmacists and technicians.
  • Skill in interpreting and reviewing medication orders.
  • Experience transcribing medication orders into electronic health record/pharmacy software systems.
  • Ability to review patient medication regimens for therapeutic duplications, drug-drug interactions, and suboptimal therapy.
  • Experience with admission and discharge medications.
  • Ability to provide drug information consultation.
  • Experience with medication history review.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of medication distribution from a central pharmacy carousel system to peripheral patient care automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
  • Product verification for daily restock batches of both bulk Client and patient-specific bin (PSB) medications.
  • Cold storage monitoring for vaccines and other parenteral agents.
  • Controlled Substance dispensing, monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
  • Ongoing close coordination with other central pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Interpret and review medication orders for appropriateness and transcribe into the electronic health record/pharmacy software systems.
  • Review patient medication regimens for therapeutic duplications, drug-drug interactions, and suboptimal therapy, particularly for admission and discharge medications.
  • Provide drug information consultation and medication history review as requested.
