About The Position
This is a continuous recruitment requisition for Part-Time Staff Pharmacists at Hoag Irvine. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for openings across multiple shifts as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of California.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy computer systems and electronic health records.
- Strong knowledge of drug information resources and pharmaceutical compounding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order interpretation and dispensing.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with sterile compounding and admixture preparation.
- Knowledge of hospital standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with various shifts and flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Provides pharmaceutical services to the hospital’s inpatients and outpatients.
- Compounds and dispenses pharmaceutical preparations and acts as a source of drug information to all members of the health care team.
- Accurately reviews and accurately interprets physician orders.
- Enters medication orders into the computer.
- Monitors for stat medications.
- Checks for accuracy of tasks performed by others.
- Always able to prepare complex pharmaceutical admixtures.
- Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct.
- Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
