About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment requisition for Part-Time Staff Pharmacists at Hoag Irvine. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for openings across multiple shifts as needed. The Staff Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical services to the hospital’s inpatients and outpatients. They compound and dispense pharmaceutical preparations and act as a source of drug information to all members of the health care team. The role involves accurately reviewing and interpreting physician orders, entering medication orders into the computer, and monitoring for stat medications. The pharmacist also checks for accuracy of tasks performed by others, prepares complex pharmaceutical admixtures, and projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct. Maintaining a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures and performing other duties as assigned are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

• Graduation from a pharmacy program with at least a B.S. degree required
• Fulfills mandatory stroke education requirements per certification agency
• Valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Nice To Haves

• Pharmacy experience or graduation from an ASHP-accredited residency program preferred
