About The Position

The Pharmacist Resident - Research Pharmacy department position at Texas Health Dallas is a full-time role for 40 hours per week, with day shifts typically from Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The Research Pharmacy department offers a progressive practice environment with great teamwork, collaboration, and a fantastic learning atmosphere. This role involves advancing employee partnership through servant leadership, recognizing excellence, and mentoring growth. Residents are accountable for managing their time, reducing pharmaceutical costs and waste, and discovering new efficiencies. They are responsible for providing optimal pharmaceutical care through clinical services and oversight of distribution technologies. The position also requires completing weekend, evening, and holiday shifts as needed during the residency year, ensuring accuracy in their work, and supporting departmental quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is an 875-bed, full-service hospital serving the Dallas community since 1966, specializing in cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women’s services, and emergency medicine. It is recognized for its Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, along with advanced women’s imaging and a Women’s Robotic Surgery program accredited as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery. The hospital is a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level I Trauma Center, and Comprehensive Heart Attack Center, and a designated Magnet hospital.

Requirements

  • Other Pharm.D. is required
  • No experience required
  • PHAR - Pharmacist Texas 90 Days is required
  • Must be computer literate, proficient in typing, able to perform basic math calculations, able to read, speak, and communicate effectively in English, directly, or over the telephone, with all employees and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Promise behaviors.
  • Management of ones own time and shares the responsibility for decreasing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new efficiencies.
  • Provision of optimal pharmaceutical care through participation in clinical services and oversight of distribution services and technologies.
  • Completes weekend, evening weekday and holiday staffing pharmacist shifts as required during the residency year.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of ones own work and supporting the departments quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, programs and standards.
