About The Position

Meijer is hiring Pharmacists and Relief Pharmacists to support pharmacy teams in the Evansville, Indiana, and Owensboro, Kentucky, markets. Pharmacists work in a collaborative, patient-focused environment, serving patients at a dedicated store or supporting multiple pharmacy locations within an assigned footprint. The role includes prescription review and dispensing, patient counseling, immunizations and other clinical services where permitted, and mentoring pharmacy technicians. Pharmacists may lead pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge and, for relief opportunities, travel among locations within a dedicated footprint and established driving radius. Average prescription volume is 500 per day per store.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
Current pharmacist license for the applicable state.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, where required.
Strong clinical judgment and patient counseling skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
Working knowledge of pharmacy systems, policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Passion for exceptional patient care and developing others.

Nice To Haves

Retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications.
Provide patient counseling, education, and medication management.
Build positive relationships with patients, healthcare providers, team members, and leadership.
Mentor, coach, and develop pharmacy technicians while promoting accountability and teamwork.
Lead pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge.
Perform and oversee immunizations and other clinical services where permitted by state law.
Comply with Meijer policies and applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Prioritize workflow while maintaining safety, quality, and customer service standards.
Promote pharmacy initiatives, wellness programs, and clinical services that improve community health.
Support continuous improvement and contribute to pharmacy growth.
For Relief Pharmacist opportunities, support pharmacy locations within an assigned footprint and established driving radius.
Perform other duties as assigned.
