Oncology Pharmacists here collaborate with expert cancer doctors, researchers, and nurses to advance leading-edge research and treatment innovations, offering personalized care and significantly impacting patient outcomes and the future of oncology treatment. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for newly hired Oncology Pharmacists. As a Clinical Specialist Pharmacist at the Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute in Los Angeles, California, you will provide comprehensive direct patient care within our medical oncology team. Your role involves delivering medication management services in coordination with other healthcare professionals. This includes assessing and managing medication therapy and supportive care, educating patients on medication use, reviewing chemotherapy orders, providing drug information, and optimizing drug therapy. You will also participate in collaborative and protocol-driven practices as appropriate. Additionally, you will support the development, updates, and creation of new drug monographs for oncology diagnosis-related group guidelines, present quarterly summaries of diagnosis-related group updates at Oncology P&T subcommittee meetings, and be involved in the education and mentorship of pharmacy students and residents.

Requirements

  • Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
  • BLS certification as outlined in the Pharmacist Responsibilities in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) and Code Blue Procedure: Pharmacy Policy and Procedure
  • Comprehensive knowledge of common disease states and pathologies.
  • Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient chart or other sources and relate it to the patient care plan.
  • Ability to assess and apply current pharmacological and biopharmaceutical principles for the selection and use of drug products in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to evaluate medication regimens to meet the therapeutic needs of patients.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to the use of automated information systems in daily practice.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clinical oncology / infusion pharmacy experience preferred
  • Board Certification in Oncology (BCOP) preferred
  • EPIC/Beacon experience preferred
