Clinical Oncology Pharmacist

Requirements
- Must have good communication skills, both oral and written
- Must have a high level of scientific understanding and ability.
- Must possess good math skills with the ability to calculate and use scientific formulas.
- Must have high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize your work.
- Must possess a responsible and security-conscious attitude.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Alabama.
- Must have PGY2 in Oncology
- Must maintain BCOP certification
- Must have oncology/hematology experience
Nice To Haves
- at least (4) years’ experience in a Pharmacy setting.
Responsibilities
- Establish and support pharmacy services in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
- Supervise the preparation of any medicines if needed.
- Provide drug information to all personnel in a timely and accurate manner.
- Create drug reviews for all newly approved drugs in oncology/hematology.
- Manage all Revlimid/Pomalyst/Thalomid prescriptions and REMS enrollment for CCI MDs
- Manage formulary within the EHR and maintain a common nomenclature for drug names and regimen names.
- Create and maintain regimens with the EHR.
- Assist in verifying new regimens are correct before promoting to practice.
- Assist in answering any MD/APP/IV clinical pharmacy questions.
- Consult with doctors about treatments, regimens, and prescriptions.
- Serve as a Preceptor to students enrolled in a college of pharmacy and Residents for PGY1 and PGY2.
- Keep up to date with current pharmacy practices, new drugs and their uses.
- Ability to be at work regularly and on time.
- Other duties as assigned.
