Staff Pharmacist - Pharmacy plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications to patients served by long-term care facilities and pharmacy operations. This position works collaboratively with pharmacy leadership, pharmacy technicians, nursing staff, providers, and facility partners to deliver high-quality pharmacy services while maintaining compliance with all state, federal, company, and accreditation standards. The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for prescription verification, clinical oversight, medication dispensing, quality assurance, and supporting pharmacy operations including automation. This individual must be able to work and support locations if needed.

Requirements

  • Current pharmacist’s license in the state of CO
  • Certified immunizer

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of pharmacy experience
  • Automation experience
  • Experience with compliance packaging
  • LTC pharmacy experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with consumers and clinic partners
  • Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance prior to dispensing
  • Interpret, clarify, and evaluate medication orders to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
  • Provide drug information and clinical support to providers, nursing staff, caregivers, and patients
  • Ensure timely and accurate dispensing of medications, including specialty medications, controlled substances, and compliance packaging
  • Monitor medication profiles for potential interactions, duplicate therapies, allergies, and contraindications
  • Performs wellness services such as Long-Acting Injectable administrations, immunizations, flu shots and other preventive services
  • Support medication therapy management and clinical interventions when appropriate
  • Participate in inventory management activities to maintain adequate medication supplies
  • Work within automated dispensing, packaging, and workflow systems to promote accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations
