Requirements

  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Meets all Kansas State Board of Pharmacy requirements to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, including acceptance of full legal responsibility for the day-to-day management, compliance, and operation of the pharmacy
  • Current Immunization Certification (or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe in accordance with state regulations)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of pharmacist experience in a retail pharmacy setting, with demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and personnel management experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all aspects of pharmacy operations to ensure full compliance with Kansas State Board of Pharmacy regulations, federal laws, and company policies.
  • Maintains accountability for legal, regulatory, and audit readiness at the store level.
  • Ensures the safe, accurate, and effective dispensing of medications while upholding the highest standards of clinical care.
  • Leads efforts in drug utilization review, patient safety, and quality assurance.
  • Manages, supervises, and develops pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and ancillary personnel.
  • Responsible for training and performance management, and fostering a collaborative, accountable team environment.
  • Promotes exceptional patient care through counseling, immunizations, and clinical services while ensuring a positive, patient-centered pharmacy experience.
  • Accepts full legal responsibility for day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all Kansas and federal regulations.
  • Interprets, verifies, and evaluates prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.
  • Oversees and ensures accurate dispensing, compounding, and labeling of medications and devices.
  • Conducts and ensures completion of drug utilization reviews (DUR) to identify interactions, contraindications, or therapy concerns.
  • Provides patient counseling on medications, including proper use, side effects, and adherence.
  • Administers immunizations and ensures delivery of clinical services such as medication therapy management (MTM).
  • Enforces policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Oversees controlled substance management, including inventory, documentation, storage, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintains all required pharmacy records, logs, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures readiness for Board of Pharmacy inspections, third party audits and supplier audits.
  • Trains and develops pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and ancillary personnel.
  • Provides direct supervision and accountability for all pharmacy personnel and their daily activities.
  • Manages operational workflow to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
  • Communicates with prescribers and healthcare providers to resolve prescription or therapy-related issues.
  • Manages inventory, including ordering, receiving, and removing expired or recalled medications.
  • Ensures proper storage, handling, and security of all medications, including controlled substances and hazardous drugs.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
  • Ensures adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Provides excellent customer service and resolves patient concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitors and improves pharmacy workflow, quality, and performance metrics.
  • Manages technician scheduling and attendance thru the online scheduling tool.
  • Strives to meet all Profit Center Board (PCB) goals set by management.
