The Pharmacist In Charge is responsible for preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians, and managing the overall day-to-day pharmacy responsibilities. This role entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge. The primary role involves reviewing and executing provider's prescriptions, ensuring their appropriateness and legality, organizing the pharmacy for efficient product identification, and maintaining control over medication inventory, stocking, and labeling. The position also requires listening to customers to understand their needs, offering information and advice, preparing medications with correct dosages, maintaining patient profiles, and staying current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing. The Pharmacist In Charge must comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures, ensuring the pharmacy and its employees adhere to Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as local facilities policies. This role includes directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, providing input for performance evaluations, advising Senior Management on behavioral and performance issues, and managing technician schedules, including leave of absence and medical accommodation requests.
