Pharmacist-in-Charge – $80+/hr - Interim Contract
About The Position
Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge for an interim contract at a behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. The role oversees pharmacy operations, supports medication safety, and maintains regulatory compliance in a specialized inpatient environment serving pediatric and detox patients. The contract is expected to last until a permanent hire is made. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with possible weekend on-call coverage. The pay rate is $80 or more per hour. Travel assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
Requirements
- Active Alaska pharmacist license.
- Ability to fulfill Pharmacist-in-Charge responsibilities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with hospital staff.
- Availability for potential weekend on-call coverage.

- Review and enter medication orders, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness.

- Oversee Omnicell medication management and verification.
- Maintain pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance as Pharmacist-in-Charge.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support safe medication administration.
- Coordinate with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient daily workflows.
