About The Position

The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy across inpatient and ambulatory settings. The Specialist provides direct patient-centered care and integrated pharmacy services with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other hospital personnel. Pharmacy Clinical Specialists are aligned with interdisciplinary programs and specialty services to optimize medication therapy, improve patient outcomes, and support population health initiatives within their practice area. The Clinical Specialist contributes to clinical and administrative initiatives and provides medication and practice-related education and training to pharmacy learners and other healthcare professionals. This is a PRN role in our cardiology and anticoagulation clinics.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency.
  • Completion of a PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Cardiology or Anticoagulation.
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or Cardiology (BPS-Cardiology) or Anticoagulation (BPS-Anticoagulation) or eligibility to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a cardiology or anticoagulation clinical setting.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Experience in precepting pharmacy residents or students.
