About The Position
As a vital pillar of the Carle Cancer Center multidisciplinary team, you will deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients and serve as a key clinical expert, supporting specialty care across Urology, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Research, and Expanded Care.
Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Bachelor's Degree: Pharmacy (Required)
- Clinical Work Experience
Responsibilities
- Intervene as appropriate to improve prescribing, administration, and monitoring practices within the facility.
- Provide MTM services and patient education as defined in the Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act.
- Determine optimal medication doses based on patient age, weight, and renal/hepatic function.
- Interpret physician medication orders and distribute the appropriate medications accurately and on time.
- Screen all orders for potential interactions with other medications, diet orders, disease states, and allergies.
- Maintain an accurate and complete accounting of all controlled substances.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in the safe preparation and dispensing of medications and parenterals.
- Assist in the training and orientation of all new pharmacy employees.
- Act as the pharmacy representative on assigned committees and work groups.
- Assist in focused research studies and drug usage evaluations as assigned.
