About The Position

The Pharmacist Auditor promotes and enforces pharmacy regulations for the Medical University of South Carolina and its entities. The Pharmacist auditor will report to the System Pharmacy Manager for Regulatory Compliance. Responsibilities include (but not limited to) oversight of area audits (nursing units, clinics and pharmacy spaces); collaboration with nursing, clinic, and pharmacy leadership to become compliant or maintain compliance with standards and regulations; and routine review and alignment of policies across the MUSC entities. Serves as a role model and expert in pharmacy regulatory requirements and standards. This position will required daily travel to our hospitals and clinics across the system to complete the assigned medication area/pharmacy inspections and audits.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in inpatient and outpatient pharmacy preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Board of Pharmacy laws and rules and Joint Commission and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) accreditation standards preferred
  • SC Pharmacist License (or eligible for SC Pharmacist License)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: Must be BLS Certified within three months of hire date and maintain certification throughout employment
  • Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred
  • Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
