The Multispecialty Ambulatory Care Clinical Specialist at Cedars-Sinai Medical
Center in Los Angeles, California is an Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner who
collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive medication
management for patients across a range of specialty ambulatory clinics. In this
highly collaborative role, the specialist supports patients throughout their
treatment journey through medication reconciliation, assessment of therapy
appropriateness and tolerability, patient education on specialty medications and
infusions, longitudinal follow-up and outcomes monitoring, and support with
medication access.

The Multispecialty Ambulatory Care Clinical Specialist achieves positive patient
outcomes through disease management guided by established protocols, promotes
adherence, and enhances satisfaction among both patients and providers as
evidenced by outcome evaluations. Following updated clinical guidelines and
Cedars-Sinai’s P&T-approved protocols, the specialist initiates, adjusts, or
discontinues therapies, orders and interprets lab results, and authorizes
medication refills.

Additionally, this specialist educates patients about specialty medications and
serves as a clinical resource for physicians and support staff. They also help
develop and maintain clinical pathways, best practices, protocols, competency
assessments, and support ongoing quality improvement efforts.
